AUSTIN, Minn. – The campaign for a new community recreation center in Austin is moving online.
Vision 2020 has created a website with information on the project, including feasibility study results and a committee meeting schedule. According to the website, the idea of a recreation center was first announced in April 2012 and an architectural firm was hired in April 2014 for preliminary design work and site selection.
Laura Helle, Director of Vision Creation for Vision 2020, says “We get a lot of inquiries about the Community Recreation Center. It is clear that the possibilities have captured Austin’s attention. This website will help answer questions about exactly what is happening and when.”
The website is www.austincommunityrec.com.
Vision 2020 is a community group formed in 2011 to promote the completion of 10 developments and initiatives in Austin by 2020.
