The Iowa State Patrol says 18-year-old Eric Buckendahl of Fort Atkinson, Iowa was driving south on Highway 63, approaching Mission Avenue, when another vehicle abruptly slowed or stopped in front of him.  Buckendahl swerved and hit the rear of the other vehicle, which left the scene and has not been located.

Buckendahl’s car spun sideways into the northbound lane of Highway 63 and was struck by the motorcycle ridden by 54-year-old Mark Hill of Cameron, Missouri.  Hill was ejected from his bike.  Buckendahl then collided with another motorcycle ridden by 61-year-old Clyde Han, also of Cameron, MO.

Buckendahl, Hill and Han were taken to Mercy Medical Center-New Hampton.  Hill was later pronounced dead.  Buckendahl and Han were treated and released.  The accident happened just after 9 am Friday.
