KIMT News 3 – The state of Iowa is proud to caucus, but the important political process has been met with some criticism.
That’s why the state Democratic Party is unveiling some ideas they believe will help more people get involved. Two of their biggest proposals include letting people take time off to participate and they want to have Iowa military personal serving outside of the state, participate through a tele-caucus.
“If we make it as accessible, and as navigable, and as transparent as possible, we think that’s a better system,” said Kurt Meyer, Tri-County Chariman of the Democratic Party.
Meyer says these were just proposals. Democrats will submit a final proposal to the DNC sometime in early 2015.
