OSAGE, Iowa – Another county fair comes to an end in our area.
The Mitchell County Fair in Osage wrapped up on Sunday evening. Committee members with the fair board tell us that the long weekend was an overall success.
We’re told thousands of people made their way through the fairground since it opened on Wednesday, and these visitors were able to enjoy things like auctions, a tractor pull and new food vendors. Spending time at county fairs is a summer tradition many families partake in, and members of the Mitchell County Fair Board tell us it’s a tradition they’re thankful for.
“Our hope, is that people keep coming out and supporting us,” says fair board president, Harley Slaichert.
Slaichert has been involved with the fair board for more than nine years. He tells us that the fair has seen it’s ups and downs with attendance, but that the fair will always be a part of summertime rituals.
