ROCHESTER, Minn. – As the med-city continues to grow, there could be a new police precinct joining the ranks.
On Monday night, officials with the Rochester Police Department will ask council members to approve a feasibility study on a possible new precinct. As it stands right now, authorities only have one precinct and it’s located in the heart of downtown. Chief Roger Peterson says they are always looking down the road. “We are looking at not now, but what’s the landscape five years from now. If we are in a situation where we really need that precinct in five years, it doesn’t happen overnight,” Peterson said.
