UPDATE: 2 in critical, 2 in stable condition following Clear Lake accident

UPDATE:

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – The names of those involved in a two car crash on Tuesday in Clear Lake are being released.  The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened just before noon on Highway 18 near the Agape Christian Family Church.  A Jeep was heading westbound on the highway, and a Chrysler was heading eastbound.  The Chrysler, driven by 18-year-old Ashton Trenhaile of Lake Mills, crossed the center line and hit the Jeep, driven by 22-year-old Abby Zieman of Meservey, head on.  Also in Zieman’s car was 4-month-old Easton Zieman of Meservey. Both are in stable condition at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa.  Meanwhile, the two in the Chrysler, Trenhaile and passenger, 17-year-old Aunastashya Beebe of Forest City are in critical condition.  Trenhaile remains at Mercy Medical Center, and Beebe was transferred to another location.   The accident is still under investigation.

 

EARLIER:

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – Authorities are responding to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 18 on the west edge of Clear Lake.  Four passengers, including a baby, have been taken from the scene by ambulance.  There is no word on the extent of their injures.  The Iowa State Patrol, Clear Lake police, fire and ambulance and Mason City fire and ambulance crews are all on scene.
