ST. PAUL, Minn. – The governor of Minnesota has ordered all U.S. and state flags to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday.
Governor Mark Dayton says it is to honor Police Officer Scott Patrick, who was shot in the line of duty on July 30th. The 47-year-old Patrick was a 19 year veteran of the Mendota Heights Police Department.
Patrick was fatally shot while making a traffic stop in West St. Paul. He is the first Mendota Height’s police officer to be slain in the line of duty.
