OSAGE, Iowa – It’s great news for one local co-op as they announce to their board of supervisors that they’re looking to expand.
The Osage Co-Op Elevator shared that news Monday in Mitchell County. This five million dollar project will be located in Osage. It will be a state of the art, dry-fertilizer facility. Those in the area say it will be a wonderful opportunity for North Iowa.
“You know it will mean additional jobs in the community of Osage and Mitchell County. It will allow this product to be held on hand, close to where the farmers need it,” said Brenda Dryer, Executive Director of Mitchell County Economic Development.
More than 500 members from Mitchell County are part of the Co-Op. Construction is set to be finished by the spring of 2016.
