CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – A Clear Lake business owner, once fighting to save his restaurant, is learning, he’s been chosen to receive help. The Barrel Drive-In in Clear Lake was on the verge of closing its door. The building is getting old, and business was down. Renovations would have been too much for Seth Thackery to pay for on his own.
Thanks to an award, his business will get a make-over worth up to $75,000. This award is being granted by a Clear Lake businesswoman, Julie Wright, owner of Executive Financial Architects and the owner of North Iowa Internet and Creative Services, Michael Fiala, will provide Thackery with business coaching for the next two years. This should go a long way to help Thackery out and get the Barrel Drive-In successful once more.
The restaurant opened in 1958. Thackery has worked there since he was a teenager, and purchased the business in 2008.
He says this whirlwind of support has been overwhelming.
