AUSTIN, Minn. – The former chief of police in Brownsdale is back in custody.

43-year-old Jason Mindrup is charged with 1st and 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct.  He’s accused of sexually assaulting a woman in August 2013.  He was first put on paid administrative leave and then fired by the Brownsdale City Council.

Mindrup is now in the Mower County Jail on a 72-hour hold for violating the no-alcohol use provision of his pre-trial release.  Authorities say they expect Mindrup to be released when that hold expires.

Mindrup is scheduled to go on trial October 27th.
