ST. PAUL, Minn. – The I-90/94 Challenge was almost a complete success.
The Minnesota State Patrol and law enforcement agencies in 14 other states teamed up for an enhanced traffic enforcement project August 1st through the 4th. The goal was to have no traffic fatalities from coast-to-coast along Interstates 90 and 94. Minnesota and 12 other states did not have a single person killed in an accident along either freeway during that time. There were fatalities reported in Montana and Ohio.
During those four days, the Minnesota State Patrol investigated 91 crashes on I-90 and I-94 and issued over 7,700 warnings and citations.
