DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Three Minnesota residents have been killed in a plane crash in Canada.
Official reports indicate that the crash happened Friday, just south of Kenora on Chappie Lake.
The Ontario Provincial Police and Itasca County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as 41-year-old Nickolas Ivar Rajala and 40-year-old Teresa Nicola Rajala, both of Cohasset, and 37-year-old Lynn Marie Bohanan of Grand Rapids.
Rescue squads found two in the Cessna 182 dead when they arrived around 4 p.m. and the third seriously injured. But the third victim later died.
The three were staying at an area lodge, and were fishing on Chappie Lake for the day.
The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office says no other details about the crash are immediately available.
The Canadian Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
