Florida men arrested for shooting at Iowa resort

BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) — Two Florida men face felony charges after a shooting outside an eastern Iowa vacation resort and apartment complex.

The Burlington Hawk Eye reports (http://bit.ly/VaeNtv ) that 26-year-old Donald Devon Watkins and 30-year-old Virgil Michael Griggs, both of Miami, were arrested.

Burlington Police Lt., Jeff Klein says two people were shot in the parking lot of FunCity, an entertainment and casino resort, and were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were later called to a drive-by shooting near Stone Garden Apartments, and to a car fire.

Watkins is charged with two counts of willful injury, second-degree arson and intimidation with a dangerous weapon. Griggs is charged with second-degree arson and intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

Both men were to appear in court Sunday. Online court records did not list a lawyer.
