RUSSELL, Iowa (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a plane crash that killed two people in Wayne County.
An Iowa Department of Public Safety spokesman says the Iowa State Patrol was called to the crash Saturday afternoon. He says the crash happened in southern Iowa near Russell.
The spokesman says he doesn’t know the victims’ identities or what caused the crash. It’s unclear what type of plane it was.
He says the county sheriff department and the state patrol are assisting the FAA with the investigation.
