CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – A north Iowa restaurant may be featured on the Food Network.
Seth Thackery, owner of Clear Lake’s Barrel Drive-In, says he’s filled out an application and had a Skype interview with a scout for the show “Restaurant Impossible”. Thackery says he had to answer many questions about his business and what kind of story the program might find if it came to Clear Lake.
“Restaurant Impossible” is a TV show where chef, Robert Irvine tries to turn around struggling eateries in just two days and with just $10,000. A couple of months ago, the Barrel Drive-In was facing possible closure due to an aging building and declining customer base. Since then, the business has received $75,000 from two local companies to help it stay afloat.
Thackery says he should find out very soon if he and the Barrel will be on the show.
