ROCHESTER, Minn. – The world famous Mayo Clinic got a little bigger on Monday morning.
Officials with the medical giant, along with city leaders, broke ground on a new 70,000 square foot space for the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. Although doctors will not be in the facility until 2015, those who work closely with the project say they are thrilled. “We are going to be doing clinical laboratory testing. Three labs from the downtown facility are going to be relocating to this site,” Director of Clinical Microbiology Dr. Matt Binnicker said.
The building will be an expansion of a facility already in use.
