Instructor receives national award

MASON CITY, Iowa – Educators strive to help every student, and one local instructor is receiving national recognition for his efforts.

Jeremy White, the iJAG Specialist, is getting awarded for his work with the iJAG program at Mason City High School.  The program helps students who may have barriers in their way, or just need extra support to help them graduate from high school.  White says he was shocked when he heard the news.

“I mean, obviously this is our first year having iJAG in Mason City.  For me, to be honored with this award, was just awesome, because there are a lot of specialists or iJAG teachers that have been doing it for a long while.”

This year they’re expanding the program to all four high school grades.
