ROCHESTER, Minn. – Officials in southern Minnesota are getting the word out that porta-potty fires are not funny and very serious.
The Rochester Fire Department says they responded to one on Sunday night in a northwest park that left the porta-potty destroyed. Thankfully nobody was hurt but authorities say these types of fires are very serious business. “We are interested in those individuals that started this fire among other ones that have happened in Rochester. This is personal property…it’s an act of arson,” Assistant Fire Marshal Larry Mueller said.
Mueller said the department is investigating three of these fires total. He says anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.
