Habitat for Humanity is building 46th home


MASON CITY, Iowa – One local family is receiving a gift of a lifetime, as Habitat for Humanity hosts a groundbreaking event at what will become their new home.

Misty Baumgartner is celebrating with her son Keegan, who’s wheel-chair bound. The newly-built house will be handicap accessible for him.  Misty says she’s beyond thankful that they’re getting this opportunity.

“It’s been a long time coming trying to find a place that is 100 percent accessible for Keegan, so this will be perfect. I won’t have to worry about his independence.”

They’ll be neighbors with another family whose home was built by Habitat.  Construction is set to be finished by March.
