ROCHESTER, Minn. – Rochester police say a standoff at 3534 21st Ave NW has ended without incident.
Shortly after 8:10 Wednesday morning, Joseph Rodriguez was taken into custody, however no charges have been filed yet. Rochester police responded to the home after reports of a woman screaming.
When officers arrived, a woman escaped from the home out the back door claiming she had been assaulted throughout the night by her boyfriend. Officers confirm, she sustained injuries in line with her story.
Rodriguez barricaded himself inside the home for about an hour, but eventually surrendered. Charges are pending. “We could be looking at potential domestic abuse charges, also there was some indication that she might have been strangled so we could be looking at felony strangulation as well as false imprisonment,” Lt. Mike Sadauskis with the Rochester Police Department said.
