Multiple injured following evening collision

BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa – Multiple people, including an infant have been injured following an evening crash in Black Hawk County.

It happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Hwy 218 and CR 57. The Iowa State Patrol is reporting that a 65-year-old Dealda Diemer of Denver was driving a 2009 Chevy Traverse. Diemer was traveling eastbound on the county road and failed to stop at a stop sign. Diemer continued traveling into the northbound lane of Hwy 218 and broadsided a 2010 Subaru Outback driven by 59-year-old Virginia Lovik of Joice.

Official crash reports indicate that Lovik was traveling with 2-year-old Benson Lovik, and that both were injured from the impact of the collision. All three of the individuals were taken to Allen Hospital, however their conditions are unknown at this time.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Cedar Falls Police Department, the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office and the Janesville Police and Fire Departments.
