Man arrested after stabbing in Albert Lea

ALBERT LEA, Minnesota – A man has been arrested after an early-morning stabbing in Albert Lea.

Dispatch received a call around 2:30 am stating that someone was being stabbed. Officers from the Albert Lea Police Department and the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office responded to 702 Garfield Avenue where they found numerous people fighting within the residence.

During the fight, police say a 24 year old man suffered non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed.

That man and a 46-year-old female were transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System – Albert Lea. Both were treated and later released.

A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with felony 2nd degree assault. He is currently being held at the Freeborn County Adult Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
