ALBERT LEA, Minn. – One man was arrested and another taken to the hospital after a stabbing over the weekend.
Albert Lea police were called to 702 Garfield Ave. around 2:19 yesterday morning for a report of an assault.
They entered the home to find a 24-year-old male with several stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“It appears to be a domestic situation, family members involved, not necessarily male and female. Two males were involved. Subsequently a 29-year-old male was arrested. He’s being held in jail until [Tuesday],” said Deputy Director JD Carlson with the Albert Lea Police Department.
29-year-old Timothy Lenze is in police custody awaiting a court appearance.
“It is an ongoing investigation. Evidence was collected on the scene. Officers were on the scene for several hours, a search warrant was executed on that residence that morning,” Carlson said.
Carlson said that the 24-year-old has been released from the hospital.
He said Lenze should be appearing in court Tuesday morning.
