Two men being held locally on federal drug charges

NORTHWOOD, Iowa – Two men are being held on five drug related felony charges, following their arrest in Northwood on Wednesday, August 27th.  In court papers filed late last week in U.S. District Court, a grand jury charges that Isaias Vasquez-Amaya and Jose Vasquez-Mendez, on several occasions between February 2014 and August 27th, 2014, intended to distribute methamphetamine, or that they knowingly distributed methamphetamine on several occasions in North Iowa.  The court also alleges that the men were in possession of meth when law enforcement arrested them.  The indictment shows that Vasquez-Amaya faces counts 1 through 5 and Vasquez-Mendez faces counts 1, 4 and 5.  Both men are being held in the Worth County Jail until their Federal Court date.
