Police search for 2 suspects in Albert Lea aggravated robbery

ALBERT LEA, Minn. — On Monday September 1, 2014 at approximately 11:06 PM, the Albert Lea Police Department received a call of an aggravated robbery that just took place at the Holiday Inn Express located at 77820 East Main Street.

Two males reportedly entered the business, displayed a handgun to employees, and left the business with money.

The suspects were described as two males wearing dark clothing and their faces mostly covered. One of the males displayed a handgun, and they both left the business with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries are being reported.

Austin Police Department’s K-9 Unit assisted with a search of the immediate area of the business.  After a thorough search of the area by law enforcement, no suspects were located.

Albert Lea Police Department was assisted by the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol and Austin Police Department.
