Wanted fugitive in custody in Mower County


KIMT News 3 – A man wanted by law enforcement for months, is now in custody in Mower County. Olmsted County says Gregory Ahlers was tracked down in California at his mother’s home.

In Mower County, Ahlers is wanted on four felony drug charges. He also faces felony charges in Olmsted County for fleeing from authorities. Ahlers has been on the run since May, when Rochester police attempted to arrest him after surrounding a home, but were unable to find him.

Here’s the original story from the night Rochester Police tried to apprehend him:

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Rochester police continue their search on Wednesday night for a wanted man.  Our reporter on the scene tells us police have put up spotlights, and moved to a new location.  They’re looking for the fugitive in the area of County Road 22 and 36th Avenue NW in Rochester. They are using dogs in the search, and are going neighborhood by neighborhood, after someone in the area said they spotted him.  We will continue to update you as we receive new information.
