Cannon used to teach a valuable lesson

ROCHESTER, Minn. – With high school football season here once more, authorities are hoping to get the word out about some serious issues.

The Minnesota State Patrol in southern Minnesota will be attending select football games this fall. They will be using a cannon to shoot t-shirts into the crowd. The green shirts read “Everyday I’m Bucklin”, a reminder to buckle up when driving. “It’s very important, because traffic crashes are the number one cause of death of teenage drivers. This is a way we can just reinforce this message,” said Sgt. Troy Christianson with the Minnesota State Patrol.

Law enforcement is also warning about the dangers of texting and driving.

The following is a list of area games where the troopers will be with their “Everyday I’m Bucklin” t-shirt cannon.
