HAMPTON, Iowa – Authorities now say the stabbing of a high school student was self-inflicted
The Iowa Department of Public Safety says Hampton Police received a 9-1-1 call just before 4:30 pm on September 2nd, and when first responders arrived, a juvenile was transported to Franklin General Hospital for treatment of a stab wound.
At first, law enforcement went searching through Hampton for clues and witnesses to an attack. An investigation has now determined the injury was self-inflicted. The Iowa Department of Public Safety says no further information on this incident will be released.
