NORTHWOOD, Iowa- Most 8th graders are interested in learning how to play the piano, but the Hancock County 4-H are learning how a piano actually works.
They traveled to Dewey Kruger Music in Northwood. Dewey says he has been selling and fixing pianos for 50 years.
He taught the kids how to tune, as well as how the pianos work. Those with the 4-H group say they hope the kids can learn something new from this experience.
“This is just one opportunity to give them a deeper understanding of what their music is doing,” says Victoria Schmidt, event coordinator for the Hancock County 4-H. “If they just take away interest in the piano, or some knowledge of the piano, that is what 4-H is about.”
