Man sentenced one year after wild chase

AUSTIN, Minn. – Leading law enforcement on a high speed chase through Mower and Dodge counties is sending a man to prison.

46-year-old Jerry Lee Castilleja of Moose Lake was sentenced Thursday to 17 months behind bars, with credit for 363 days already served, and ordered to pay $3,952.14 in restitution for starting a police pursuit on September 18, 2015.  The chase reached speeds of 90 miles an hour and only stopped when Castilleja crashed into a skid loader in Blooming Prairie.

He entered a guilty plea to fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, a felony, on September 2.  Four other charges against him were dismissed.
