ALBERT LEA, Minn. – Freeborn County law enforcement is looking for an escaped prisoner.

Levi Troy Dahl was arrested on September 6 and charged with criminal vehicular operation, fleeing a peace officer and reckless driving.  He was being held on $75,000 bond but was released from the Freeborn County Adult Detention Center on Thursday so he could have surgery to fix a broken leg.

The prosecutor asked for Dahl’s temporary release for “humanitarian reasons.”  The judge ordered Dahl to remain under house arrest, report daily to Court Services and wear a GPS monitoring bracelet.

However, when Dahl was released from custody to have surgery in Rochester, he left the hospital and his GPS bracelet was cut off and found at a Rochester Walmart.

An arrest warrant has been issued and anyone with any information on Dahl’s location is asked to call the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office at 507-377-5200, extension 5.
