PRESTON, Minn. – A Fillmore County man is going to prison for crimes in Iowa and Minnesota.
39-year-old Justin Leroy Rickert of Wykoff entered an Alford plea in August to one count of receiving stolen property. He was sentenced Monday in Fillmore County District Court to 21 months in prison, with credit for 152 days already served. That comes after Rickert entered guilty pleas in Winneshiek County, Iowa, to operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent and unauthorized use of a credit card. Rickert received two years behind bars on those charges.
His sentences will be served concurrently in Minnesota.
Rickert was arrested in southern Minnesota on April 20 when he was seen driving a vehicle that matched the description of one that had been stolen from Winneshiek County. Authorities say items were found in the vehicle that had been stolen from Hahn Lumber in Harmony.
