UPDATE: According a news release from the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, 58-year-old Joseph Lauritson, of Radcliffe, fell from a scaffolding at 613 Main St.
He was treated on scene and then transported by Air Care medical helicopter to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, where he is currently listed in critical condition.

THORNTON, Iowa – Authorities say a man suffered life-threatening injuries after falling off a scaffolding at 613 Main St. in Thornton on Monday evening.
According to a Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office news release, the man was transported around 6:45 p.m. by an Air Care medical helicopter to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. His name has not been released.
Also responding to the incident were the Thornton Fire and First Responders and Mason City Fire Department medics.
