ROCHESTER, Minn. – An inspection of a condemned house ended in a drug arrest on Thursday afternoon.
A building inspector arrived at 322 19th Ave. SW around 3:15 p.m. to post the home as condemned. There was no water or electricity and it was deemed uninhabitable. However, there was a gas-powered generator running on the enclosed porch, raising concerns about exhaust.
The Rochester Fire Department picked up unsafe readings of CO2 at 35 ppm. Police began a welfare check of anyone inside and found two people upstairs where 19-year-old Kayla Jennings, of Kasson, was arrested on a narcotics warrant. Police say she about a gram of meth on her at the time.
Neither occupant required medical treatment.
