MASON CITY, Iowa- Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine’s wife Anne Holton visited North Iowa on Friday, a day after early voting started in the state.
Holton spent time in Charles City and Mason City. She said while her husband is getting prepared for the Vice Presidential debate on Tuesday, she stopped in Iowa to encourage people to vote.
Holton discussed the state’s educational system, a topic that she said is very important to her as the former Secretary of Education in Virginia.
“The key thing Hillary [Clinton] has asked me to do on the campaign trail is to listen to educators, teachers, students, parents and bring back ideas,” said Holton.
Holton said every vote counts and to keep in mind a few questions. “I’d like to remind them (voters) four key issues. Do you believe in climate science? Do you believe in LGBT rights? D you believe women should be able to make their own decisions on their reproductive care? And finally, do you believe we’re stronger together?”
On Friday, Donald Trump campaigned in Michigan and Hillary Clinton visited voters in Florida.
