Study looks at antidepressants and sexual activity

ROCHESTER, Minn. – One in six women in the United States take these pills but they can have an impact on other aspects of your life.

For women, taking antidepressants can lead to sexual dysfunction but Mayo Clinic researchers are trying to figure out how to combat that. After finding out whether it’s low desire, arousal, or orgasm dysfunction, doctors say they can take steps to treat the condition through exercise, scheduling sexual activity or adjusting medication dosage.

Another key factor is to see whether the pills you are taking are having this impact or could it be something before you started antidepressants.
