A father’s message to students

ROCHESTER, Minn. – A little over four years ago, Deej Logan, a senior at Byron High School, was killed as she composed a text while driving.

Her father, Matt, visits high schools across the state urging teens to put down their phones and pay attention to the road.

On Wednesday, Matt was at Century High School in Rochester, shortly after a mock crash showed the students exactly what could happen if they drink and drive or become distracted behind the wheel. For nearly an hour, Matt was able to talk to students about his daughter, her outgoing personality and what happened the day he lost her.
