MASON CITY, Iowa – A local organization is celebrating one hundred years of service in Mason City by recognizing local businesses and employees.
The Mason City Chamber Of Commerce hosted its 100th Annual Meeting at Music Man Square.
Distinguished citizens, employers and companies were awarded.
One chamber member says they continue to work to put Mason City on the map.
“The chamber has really done a lot for the Mason City community in the last 100 years — I mean they really promote the city, you know with Vision Iowa, the sculptures and really trying to make Mason City the destination place to be,” says David Bergan, upcoming chair, Mason City Chamber of Commerce.
Joel and Katy Showalter, owners of Window World of Mason City, received the Small Business of the Year Award.
Matthew Chizek, manager at Cent Credit Union, received the Boss of the Year Award — and Kim Pang, general manager at Diamond Jo Casino, received the Distinguished Citizen Award.
