FOREST CITY, Iowa- Westown Place Apartments has been a project in the works for the last couple of years in Forest City, and last Friday those in charge of the project broke ground.
The 2-complex, 24-unit project will cost over $750,000 and answer the community’s need for rental properties. Beth Bilyeu, the Forest City Economic Development Executive Director, says this project has been a lot of work.
“There is a lot of different meetings. We have equity investors of about $1,250,000, that was a lot of meetings, a lot of legal forms and a lot of planning,” says Bilyeu. “It’s very nice when you can finally stand on the ground and get started.”
Bilyeu says they expect to start construction sometime next week, weather permitting.
