MASON CITY, Iowa- The Mason City Police Department participated in national Coffee with a Cop day Friday at McDonald’s in Mason City.
Crime Prevention Coordinator Jeremy Ryal said the program is a way to get to know community members, have one-on-one conversations and answer any questions people may have.
“It’s an opportunity for people to get to know us on a more personal level too,” said Ryal. “To just build those relationships and make those connections.”
Ryal said he has lived in Mason City for a long time and it’s neat to talk to community members about the history of Mason City and hear about people’s experiences as kids with police officers years ago.
