ROCHESTER, Minn. – The daily grind of going to school can make any student stressed, but one class in southern Minnesota is looking at ways to relax.
Mr. Andy Johnsrud’s class at John Marshall High School in Rochester are taking a five-week course on the use of mindfulness. If you didn’t know, this type of therapy is focused on being in the moment — not worrying about the future.
To do this, they are getting help from a Mayo Clinic fitness instructor named Stephanie Sutherland. The teacher and Sutherland both say they are excited to see the students open up to new ways of thinking and are happy to be doing this program.
