Two-vehicle accident hurts three people in Cerro Gordo County

MASON CITY, Iowa – Three people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident Thursday night in North Iowa.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at the intersection of Mallard Avenue and 250th Street at around 7:19 pm.  19-year-old Logan Wilcke of Clear Lake was driving south and collided with the southbound SUV driven by 41-year-old Kenneth Vickers of Charles City, who had slowed due to a vehicle in front of him making a right-hand turn.

Neither driver was hurt but three people, 20-year-old Jacqsen Hesse of New Hampton, 37-year-old Cleon Mitchell of Milwaukee, WI, and 47-year-old Wendi Duncan of Charles City were taken to Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa for treatment of minor injuries.

Wilcke was cited for failure to stop within an assured clear distance.
