ROCKWELL, Iowa – A local church lost one of their buildings last year due to an electrical fire, but one year later they are working towards building a new one.
Sacred Heart Parish in Rockwell lost their building last year. The building was used for their religious services along with other activities that served the congregation. They currently have about 60 students in their program and are using the rectory building to provide classes.
Helen Cahalan, the church bookkeeper, says the fire has had made it difficult for the church but local organizations have helped them throughout the process.
“Last year, after the fire came last year then in January we used the public school for religious educations programs for the rest of the year,’ says Calahan.
Church members will be meeting to discuss further plans on the layout of the new building.
