Major theft from Mason City construction company reported


MASON CITY, Iowa – The owners of Young Construction in Mason City are reporting a significant theft from over the weekend.

Mason City police say they’re investigating a break-in at the facility, 1539 North Federal Avenue, between 6 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday.  The business owners told KIMT News 3 on Sunday they were still compiling an exact list of what was taken, but it’s believed to be between $20,000 and $30,000 in tools and equipment.  The building and multiple vehicles on the property were broken into.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the recovery of the tools and the arrest of those responsible.

Among the items reported stolen:

  • Bosch chop saw
  • Bosch table saw’
  • hammer drill
  • impact driver
  • reciprocating saw
  • paint sprayer
  • tool box with five paint guns
  • miter saw
  • Milwaukee router

Many items were marked Young Construction.
