ROCHESTER, Minn. – It’s probation for the Stewartville woman accused of neglecting a sick relative until she died.
74-year-old Shirley Ann Kraemer was sentenced Monday to three years of supervised probation and ordered to perform 30 hours of community service. She entered a guilty plea in June to criminal neglect of a vulnerable adult.
Kraemer was originally charged with 2nd degree manslaughter after authorities responded to a report of a woman in distress in High Forest Township on November 6, 2015. Medical personnel say the sick woman’s skin was fused to her sheets and she had open sores, infections and exposed rib and hip bones. She died on November 9.
