PRESTON, Minn. – One of the people arrested after a missing persons report turned into a stolen vehicle case is pleading guilty.
25-year-old Jessi Lynn Kominek entered a guilty plea Monday in Fillmore County District Court to one count of gross misdemeanor theft. She will be sentenced on December 5.
Kominek and 31-year-old Joshua Allen Vlasaty were arrested on June 12, a day after they were reported missing after going tubing on the Root River. The search for them led to an investigation which allegedly connected Kominek and Vlasaty to the theft of an SUV from a garage near Lanesboro.
Vlasaty is pleading not guilty to two counts of felony theft of a motor vehicle and one misdemeanor count of tampering with a motor vehicle. His next court appearance is set for October 24.
