Teen arrested after false report of someone with a gun at a Rochester school

ROCHESTER, Minn. – A teenage boy has been arrested after allegedly making a phony call about someone with a gun at a Rochester school.

The 13-year-old male is accused of calling police dispatch Monday morning and indicating that a student at Phoenix Academy was armed with a gun and was holding a teacher hostage.  All available police, fire and EMS responded to the school, which was placed on lockdown until officers cleared each room and found no threat.

The 13-year-old is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center and is facing a variety of charges, including making a terroristic threat.
