MASON CITY, Iowa – An alleged North Iowa car burglar is pleading not guilty.
29-year-old Jamie Evenson of Clear Lake was arrested September 21 after he reportedly broke into a two parked cars on South Illinois Avenue and other parked cars on North Kentucky Avenue, 8th Street NE and 12th Street NE in Mason City. Evenson allegedly stole or tried to steal items out of each vehicle. When arrested, police say Evenson also had a backpack with a sewing kit inside. Marijuana was allegedly in the kit.
He’s charged with five counts of 3rd degree burglary, 1st offense possession of marijuana and 2nd degree criminal mischief.
Evenson’s trial is set for November 15 in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
