School leaders ask for community input on superintendent position


MASON CITY, Iowa – Mason City School leaders are hoping to have all of the candidates interviewed by Dec. 18 for the school superintendent position as current Superintendent Mike Penca’s one-year contract nears the end — but they’re are also looking for the community’s input.

Those on the Mason City School Board have posted a single page questionnaire on the school’s website, hoping to learn what others want to see out of the superintendent position.

“We’re all voted by the community members and onto these seats,” says Jana Arndt, School Board president. “This is their community, their school district and we want to hear from you guys and so I’m hoping that a lot of them will go out there and do the survey.”

Folks have until Oct. 18 to fill out the survey. We have included a link below to the school’s website:
