ROCHESTER, Minn. – As the city of Rochester grows, leaders might be getting some inspiration from Germany.
Rochester has been selected as one of five Minnesota cities to be in a a Climate Smart Municipalities Exchange with five cities in Germany. Rochester got paired up with a city called Munster, which is known as the World’s Most Livable City and houses 300,000 people. The med-city, which is growing thanks to DMC, is only 100,000 people but is only expected to get larger. The cities will visit each other and learn more about transportation and other climate issues. Rochester officials tell us one thing they noticed is the fact a lot of people use electric cars or bicycles to get around, something that might be good for the med-city.
